Several weeks ago, I posted Jeff Teichert's letter to the Faith and
Freedom Network.
A few days ago, he found the Cultural Warfare Update that mentioned
his candidacy and his letter to FFN for support. Here's a direct link
to his reply:

A few letters back and forth between me and him are posted below that.
He appears now to he more of a property-rights activist who is reaching
out to fundamentalists for political support, which I'm not convinced
makes _that_ much of a difference from a practical matter. (But I'm not
100% convinced he's not just a very good stealth candidate.)
Regardless, if you want to hear him making his case in his own words, I
urge you to check that out. I did not edit his replies in any way, and
set all of them visible that were intended to be visible.

Subject: [Active-seattle-l] (HEADS UP) Jeff Teichert, running for
Washington Court of Appeals, is an anti-gay fundamentalist

I'm pulling this one out from today's CWU to make sure it gets
attention; Jeff Teichert, who is running for a position on the
Washington Court of Appeals, is wooing the fundamentalists and appears
to be a fundamentalist himself. (He spent some time being a full-time
missionary in Australia; number one on his list of offensive court
cases is one that recognised that lesbians could have parental rights.)
He's doing the whole "judicial tyranny" thing. I recommend reading his
letter to the stridently anti-gay "Faith and Freedom Network" in its
entirety.

Jeff Teichert Announces Candidacy for WA Court of Appeals

candidacy-for.html

We recently received a letter from Jeff Teichert announcing his
candidacy for the Washington Court of Appeals. I thought it was so good
on the substantive issues that I am posting his letter here.

[LETTER FROM JEFF TEICHERT]

I am a candidate for the Washington Court of Appeals. An appellate
judge must have the ability to consistently apply general principles to
specific facts and to reason and write coherently. I have spent most of
my career writing briefs, which hones and develops these essential
skills.

During my twelve-year career in the legal profession, I have filed
briefs in the United States Supreme Court, the United States Courts of
Appeal for the Ninth and Tenth Circuits, the Washington Court of
Appeals, and a variety of other state and federal courts and
administrative agencies. As a law clerk for the Chief Justice of
American Samoa, I assisted in preparing approximately 100 published
judicial opinions over a two-year period. My career has provided
excellent preparation for service on the Court of Appeals.
