Here's my letter. You can borrow bits from it if you want. DO NOT COPY
AND PASTE IT INTO THE WEB PAGE. REWRITE IT IN YOUR OWN WORDS. THEY
DETECT DUPLICATE MAIL. And duplicate mail gets severely discounted. But
you can use it as a framework if you want.

Dear Senator Murray:

Stop the so-called "McCain Compromise," which, as most supporters of
the administration's torture programme have already noted, allows the
complete resumption of previous abuses. Stop the modifications to the
War Crimes Act to allow torture.

I don't care how. If it takes standing up in the Senate reading from
the phone book until Congress ends its session, that's fine by me. If
it takes every slimy parliamentary trick you and anyone else knows,
that's fine too. Just stop it from passing. I don't care how.

This is beyond criminal. This is a betrayal of the core ideals of
America. This is Soviet-premier style power handed to the Presidency,
permitting him to to use Soviet-style torture methods - methods they
invented and perfected, and which, not that long ago, we condemned in
the clearest of terms.

This is a betrayal of the vilest kind. Stop this bill.

Sincerely,

Dara Korra'ti
Kenmore, Washington
