Hey, I'm kind of caught up now! Canadians should be aware that REAL
Women of Canada has sent out a rare ACTION ITEM; see below. Also,
you've got your very own creationism "natural history" museum now; go
you. Or something. Americans have a good dose of red meat courtesy of
the Traditional Values Coalition digging out some hard-core diseased-
perverts language with just a sprinkling of child-rape on top. _Tasty._

And now, today's news.

Focus on the Family applauds Republican-controlled New York State
Senate for not taking up the marriage bill passed by the Assembly;

FotF happy that Mr. Bush plans to veto any bill expanding embryonic
stem-cell research;

FotF ACTION ITEM against Oregon embryonic stem-cell research bill;
they call it a "Clone and Kill Bill," which seems to be their new
rhetoric on the matter;

FotF ACTION ITEM applauds Mr. Bush for vetoing S.5, the Stem Cell
Research Enhancement Act, urges readers to thank Mr. Bush for his veto;

FotF glad that Colombia bill granting limited benefits to same-sex
partners fails, praying that "the pro-family majority of Colombia
would continue to speak out and 'oppose any further attempts to win
passage of bills like this that aim to devalue the institution of
marriage and God's design for the family'";

A rare moment where I'm kind of in agreement with Focus on the Family
regarding a social issue, in that they protest a (dropped) "hate
crime" charge against a student; I don't think it should have been
brought at all; I am personally very iffy on hate crime laws, and am,
of course, stridently opposed to hate-speech laws;

FotF: "Two Colleges, One City Trying to Skirt Michigan Marriage
Amendment" by finding ways to offer benefits in ways that don't
exclude GBLT people; Focus is opposed, of course;

CBS and FOX refuse condom ads on the basis that they _promote
contraception_; Focus on the Family is thrilled;

FotF upset that Congress is getting ready to kill the Mexico City and
abstinence-only foreign aid policies, and are hoping for Bush vetoes;

Anti-gay student activist and campaign worker for presidential
candidate Tom Tancredo (R-CO) is outed;

American Family Association ACTION ITEM against adding sexual
orientation to Federal hate-crimes law, calling it the result of "a
small group of homosexual activists [taking] away our freedoms";

American Family Association's OneNewsNow service accuses Democrats of
anti-white racism in blocking some of Mr. Bush's judicial nominees;

Gary Bauer, now of American Values, formerly of the Focus on the
Family spinoff the Family Research Council, calls for Federal spying
on mosques;

Creationism is showing up in Europe; the E.U. is not amused;

Alliance Defense Fund's paper on adding sexual orientation (which, I
note again, includes heterosexuality) to Federal hate crimes law
condemns it for "legislative
vindication of sexually harmful and injurious immoral behavior";

Traditional Values Coalition condemns GBLT civil rights efforts as
"hijack[ing] the civil rights movement";

TVC: "Should we remind Pelosi that science was used for incredibly
evil purposes by Nazi doctors on their grisly experiments with Jewish
prisoners?";

TVC ACTION ITEM against the Centres for Disease Control because they
target GBLT people in their AIDS-prevention programmes in ways other
than "stop being fags";

TVC ACTION ITEM urging spread of a report by a Dr. Sharon Quick, who
is with the American Academy of Medical Ethics, which is an anti-
abortion medical group opposed to abortion in all circumstances, and
has testified in opposition to Plan B/emergency contraception; the
report attempts to discredit a 2002 American Academy of Pediatrics
report on same-sex marriage adoptions, showing that children of same-
sex couples do just fine. TVC links to it, and to their complete set
of anti-gay slander pages, including the "all queers are child
molesters" newtype blood libel;

TVC ACTION ITEM calls gender-reassignment "madness" - TVC's official
position on people with gender identity disorder is that they should
be involuntarily institutionalised as delusional - and extensively
quotes a Dr. Theron Bowers condemning a recent Newsweek story on
transgendered people;

TVC condemns GBLT groups for opposing the nomination of "reparative-
therapy"/ex-gay quackery supporter Dr. James Holsinger to be the new
Surgeon General; TVC plays up the "diseased fags" rhetoric, even
digging up the old "The Health Risks of Gay Sex" pamphlet, which
reaches all the way back to the fraud leader Paul Cameron, whose
other words include pamphlets calling for the death penalty for
queers. (The pamphlet is not written by Dr. Cameron, nor does it
quote him directly, but many of the claims are restatements of claims
originally made by Dr. Cameron, based on fraudulent research.) "The
Health Risks of Gay Sex" includes assertions that queers can't have
stable relationships, die 20 years earlier than straights, are crazy,
loaded up with STDs, gay men can't control their bowels, it'll all
lead to paedophilia and child rape, and on, and on, and on;

Canada Family Action Coalition rails against legalised "sodomy" and
proclaims, "The religion and beliefs of the 'sexually liberated' are
being forced upon you. But your religion and beliefs are being
criminalised if they are not liberal and 'tolerant.' What are you
going to do about it?";

Canada Family Action Coalition and WorldNetDaily condemn GBLT Pride
Parade organisers for not letting anti-gay protesters be part of the
parade;

CFAC re-runs Telegraph article headlined, "Teaching benefits of
marriage in school 'is anti-gay'," leaving out that it's specifically
a question of championing heterosexual marriage only, at the
expensive of lesbian and gay relationships, that was called into
question;

CFAC's Quotables declares evolutionary theory to be a "faith" and
"not a science," in promoting Alberta's "Creation Science Museum";

REAL Women of Canada ACTION ITEM to flood CBC News website with votes
for "Abolish abortion" and "Restore the Traditional Definition of
Marriage" to the Great Canadian Wish List vote; deadline is 1 July.
The idea is to "keep... the issue alive in the minds of the people."

N.Y. Assembly OKs Gay-Marriage Bill
Republican-led Senate will not take up legislation that could have
'disastrous implications.'
by Jennifer Mesko, associate editor
Focus on the Family
6-20-2007

http://www.citizenlink.org/CLNews/A000004880.cfm

The New York state Assembly voted 85-61 on Tuesday to legalize same-
sex marriage. The Republican-led Senate is not expected to consider
the bill this session, which ends Thursday.

The legislation, sponsored by Manhattan Democrat Daniel O'Donnell,
the openly gay brother of Rosie O'Donnell, and supported by Gov.
Eliot Spitzer, was approved after an emotional three-hour debate, The
Associated Press reported.

[...]

In a memo to all Assembly members, the Catholic Conference of New
York said "marriage is not some political term of art that can be re-
imagined or redefined according to the whims of the popular culture."

"Recognizing same-sex unions will only serve to devalue marriage even
more than what has already occurred in recent years. … Same-sex
'marriage' furthers a societal disconnect between procreation and
marriage while promoting the notion that a nontraditional family
structure serves a child as well as a traditional one. We believe
this will have disastrous implications for society," the group wrote.

Senator Plans to Add Stem-Cell Research to Spending Bill
Lawmakers hope controversial legislation would be veto-proof.
from staff reports
Focus on the Family
6-20-2007

http://www.citizenlink.org/CLNews/A000004879.cfm

Unable to expand embryonic stem-cell research on its own merits,
House and Senate leaders are trying to tie it to must-pass
legislation. It is reported that one possible target is a Health and
Human Services appropriations spending plan that funds social
programs for the poor.

On pro-life issues, President Bush is firm and consistent. Today, he
used the third veto of his presidency to turn down a bill to use
taxpayer money to destroy embryos for research.

Douglas Johnson of the National Right to Life Committee said if
leading Senate stem-cell research proponent Tom Harkin of Iowa is
looking to get the entire Health and Human Services appropriations
bill also vetoed, then this would be a way to do it.

“Senator Harkin can grandstand some more on this issue if he wants,
but the fact is that the president has said he will veto any bill
that weakens any of the existing pro-life policies," he told Family
News in Focus.

Oregon Lawmakers to Vote on Clone-and-Kill Bill Thursday
Focus on the Family
6-20-2007

http://www.citizenlink.org/CLBriefs/A000004882.cfm

A crucial vote on a clone-and-kill bill in Oregon has been
rescheduled for Thursday – presumably because support for this life-
destroying bill did not have enough votes to get it passed.

Legislators in Oregon were expected to vote on HB 2801 today. The
bill would make state tax dollars available to embryonic stem-cell
researchers who want to clone-and-kill human embryos.

If you live in Oregon, there is still time to call your legislator
and ask him or her to vote "No" on HB 2801. Call the Capitol Switch
Board at (800) 332-2313.

Bush Vetoes Embryonic Stem-Cell Bill, Promotes Ethical Research
President said he wants HHS to pursue alternatives.
by Wendy Cloyd, assistant editor
Focus on the Family
6-20-2007

http://www.citizenlink.org/CLtopstories/A000004881.cfm

President Bush announced his veto today of S.5, the Stem Cell
Research Enhancement Act, passed by Congress this month. The
legislation would have forced taxpayers to pay for research using
stem cells taken from destroyed human embryos.

During the ceremony in the East Room of the White House, he also
issued an executive order directing the Department of Health and
Human Services to promote research that does not destroy life.

Bush said his duty as president is to ensure that stem-cell research
is ethically responsible, such as using adult stem cells.

"This careful approach is producing results," he said. "It has
contributed to proven therapeutic treatments in thousands of patients
with many different diseases. It's opening the prospect of new
discoveries that could transform lives."

He said his executive order will make it more likely that such
advances continue and will support his policy of advancing stem-cell
research "in a way that is ambitious, ethical and effective."

"Congress has sent me a bill that would overturn this policy," Bush
said. "If this legislation became law, it would compel American
taxpayers – for the first time in our history – to support the
deliberate destruction of human embryos.

"I made it clear to Congress and to the American people that I will
not allow our nation to cross this moral line. Last year, Congress
passed a similar bill. I kept my promise by vetoing it. And today,
I'm keeping my word again: I am vetoing the bill that Congress has
sent."

Jim Daly, president of Focus on the Family, was at the White House
ceremony.

"The quote that really caught my attention was, 'I will not allow our
nation to cross this moral line,' " Daly related. "He was very
forthright about it -- very staunch, no equivocation. I think it
really shows, on the core issues, this president really gets the pro-
life agenda."

Dr. James C. Dobson, founder and chairman of Focus on the Family
Action, said President Bush has proven once again he’s a man who
deeply cherishes the sanctity of all human life.

"His veto today of a bill that would have led to dissection of young
innocents in the name of suspect science solidifies his already-
strong record as one of our nation’s most pro-life presidents,"
Dobson said. “More than just saying ‘no’ to using taxpayer funds
as an incentive for destructive embryonic stem-cell research, though,
Mr. Bush also signed an executive order to further encourage the
development of ethical stem-cell therapies."

Victory for Marriage in Latin America -- For Now
Focus on the Family
6-21-2007

http://www.citizenlink.org/CLBriefs/A000004883.cfm

Pro-family lawmakers in Colombia defeated legislation that would have
given the benefits of marriage to same-sex couples, LifeSiteNews.com
reported.

In a rare move, Sen. Manuel Virguez Piraquive made a motion to allow
lawmakers to cast individual votes instead of voting according to
party line. The move allowed the bill to be voted down.

If it had passed, the legislation would have made Colombia the first
country in Latin America to provide benefits including health
insurance and inheritance rights to homosexual couples.

[...]

The prayer, he said, is that the pro-family majority of Colombia
would continue to speak out and "oppose any further attempts to win
passage of bills like this that aim to devalue the institution of
marriage and God's design for the family."

Charges Against Student Accused of Hate Crime Dropped
Focus on the Family
6-21-2007

http://www.citizenlink.org/CLBriefs/A000004884.cfm

A felony hate-crime charge against an Illinois teen who passed out
fliers with an objectionable anti-homosexual message have been
dismissed, The Chicago Tribune reported.

Two girls, age 15 and 16, circulated a flier outside Crystal Lake
South High School that included a photo of two male classmates
kissing. The offensive text reportedly read, "God hates fags."

After meeting with McHenry County prosecutors, the 16 year old agreed
to plead guilty to misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and
resisting arrest. In turn, the felony was dismissed. The other teen
will appear in juvenile court next week.

[...]

Bruce Hausknecht, judicial analyst for Focus on the Family Action,
agreed that the girls were wrongfully charged.

[...]

The people of Illinois -- as well as the rest of the country -- need
to re-think the wisdom of such laws, he added. Using the prosecutor's
interpretation of the statute, Christians handing out tracts that
speak to the biblical perspective on homosexuality could also be
charged with a hate crime.

[Editor's note: For a change, I partially agree with Focus on the
Family on this issue. This is much too close to a speech issue -
though it was also a slander issue as they were targeting specific
individuals with what can regrettably still be called slander
specifically for revenge - for my comfort.]

Two Colleges, One City Trying to Skirt Michigan Marriage Amendment
Focus on the Family
6-21-2007

http://www.citizenlink.org/CLBriefs/A000004885.cfm

After a Michigan appellate court ruled in February that a voter-
approved state constitutional amendment prohibits state employers
from offering benefits to the partners of same-sex couples, some
officials are looking for ways to circumvent the law, 365Gay reported.

Michigan State University (MSU), the University of Michigan and the
city of Kalamazoo are considering offering benefit plans that include
any two people in a dependent relationship.

Laurita Thomas, associate vice president for human resources for the
University of Michigan, said that starting in January 2008 a new
category called "other qualified adult" will be offered to benefits-
eligible employees.

The new policy will provide benefits to another adult who has lived
with an employee for at least six months. The two must have joint
finances, but be unable to legally marry.

[..]

"I think what the voters have done and what the courts have done," he
said, "is to ensure that if benefits are offered to unmarried people,
they will be offered on the basis of financial dependence and need,
not on the basis of an exclusive sexual or romantic union that seeks
to simulate marriage."

U.S. House Kills Pro-Life Policy, Abstinence Directives
Bush has promised to veto any bill that overturns his policies that
protect life.
by Jennifer Mesko, associate editor
Focus on the Family
6-21-2007

http://www.citizenlink.org/CLtopstories/A000004889.cfm

Two key amendments — one to keep taxpayer dollars from funding
abortions overseas and another to steer AIDS money toward abstinence
education — failed in the U.S. House today as legislators took up
the State-Foreign Operations appropriations bill.

One amendment was meant to protect the pro-life Mexico City policy —
named after the location where President Reagan announced it.
President Bush reinstated the policy upon taking office. It prohibits
tax dollars from going to overseas groups that fund or promote
abortion. The proposal failed 218-205.

Meet Tyler Whitney: 18 and Already Outed
Posted by Dan Savage on June 12 at 10:15 AM
Slog

http://slog.thestranger.com/2007/06/
tyler_whitney_just_18_and_already_outed

Tyler Whitney is a young conservative activist—he’s serving as
webmaster for the GOP’s most rabidly anti-gay presidential candidate
Tom Tancredo, leads an anti-gay group on his college campus, carried
a “Go Back in the Closet!” sign at anti-gay protest. On his
MySpace page, Whitney says he’s interested in meeting, “any
conservative college student in the DC area that is interested in
fighting the left.”

And Tyler Whitney is gay, and he’s just been outed.

[...]

Bay Buchanan, Senior Advisor to Tancredo, says Whitney’s “sexual
preference is a personal matter,” and that it should have “nothing
to do with the campaign.”

Sorry, Bay, but gay-bashing conservative thugs—people like you, your
horrible brother, your vile candidate—can’t have it both ways on
the gay issue. If Whitney’s sexual preference is a personal matter,
if Whitney’s sexual preference shouldn’t have anything to do with
the campaign, then neither should mine—or the sexual preferences of
any other Americans. Until your candidate lays off the gay bashing,
until the GOP stops attacking the rights and humanity of gay and
lesbian Americans, then Tyler Whitney’s sexual orientation—it’s
not a preference, Bay, and you know it—is fit for public debate.

[...]

And if you’re 18 and closeted and gay and politically active, as
Whitney was, you’re old enough and savvy enough to know that
aligning yourself with anti-gay politicians, marching with assholes
that carry “Straight Power!” signs at anti-gay rallies, and being
best buds with a guy that thinks gays should be imprisoned is as good
as painting a bulls eye on your back. You not only risk being outed,
you invite it.

Hell, you’ve earned it.

A bill in Congress could make it a crime for pastors and churches to
speak against homosexuality
American Family Association
June 14, 2007

Please help us get this information into the hands of as many people
as possible by forwarding it to your entire email list of family and
friends.

Message to pastors and other Christians: Just keep your mouth shut

If pastors and other Christians don’t aggressively oppose a bill now
in Congress, in the near future they could be subject to huge fines
and prison terms if they say anything negative about homosexuality.

The proposed law could make it a crime to preach on Romans Chapter 1
or I Corinthians Chapter 6. Or even to discuss them in a Sunday
School class. If churches and individuals want to keep the
government from telling them what they can and cannot preach and
teach about homosexuality, they better get involved now!

Senate bill S. 1105 could make negative statements concerning
homosexuality, such as calling the practice of homosexuality a sin
from the pulpit, a “hate crime” punishable by law. This dangerous
legislation could take away your freedom of speech and your freedom
of religion. Consider what has already happened:

A California lawsuit which is headed to the U.S. Supreme Court would
make the use of the words “natural family,” “marriage” and
“union of a man and a woman” a “hate speech” crime in
government workplaces. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has
already ruled in favor of the plaintiffs!

CNN and The Washington Post both reported that General Peter Pace,
former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was fired because he
publicly expressed moral opposition to homosexual behavior.

For the Alliance Defense Fund’s summary of this bill, click here.

Take Action

We are looking for one million Americans willing to take a stand and
not allow a small group of homosexual activists to take away our
freedoms. Can we count on you? Click on the link below to sign our
Petition to Congress in Defense of Religious Freedom.

Please forward this to others, especially your pastor, and ask them
to get involved in protecting our freedoms of speech and religion.
This threat to our religious freedoms is real!

Bush’s Appeals Court nominees who are white Southern males.

The president has nominated seven white males from the South to the

have done so successfully by labeling six of them as insensitive or
hostile to the rights of racial or ethnic minorities, women, and

A summary of the proposed Hate Crimes Prevention Act
prepared by the Alliance Defense Fund
Alliance Defense Fund
Hosted by American Family Association

http://www.afa.net/PDfs/hatecrimespreventionact2007.pdf

The Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2007 (S. 1105) is problematic for a
variety of reasons, several of which are set forth herein.
▪ The Act is unnecessary. There is no evidence that so-called ‚hate
crimes‛ are a problem of national concern, and no evidence that
these crimes are
not being adequately prosecuted by state and municipal governments.
In fact,
the evidence is to the contrary.
▪ The Act in certain of its anticipated applications is patently
unconstitutional. It could criminalize certain protected thoughts,
feelings,
beliefs, and speech related to views in opposition to homosexual
behavior.1
▪ The crucial phrase ‚bodily injury‛ in the Act is left undefined.
(Under the terms of the Act, a person may not cause prohibited
‚bodily injury‛
because of sexual orientation.) Based on other federal statutes and
regulations
also using this term, it can mean any discomfort no matter how fleeting,
including mental anguish. This authorizes prosecution for even
nonviolent
behavior such as mere unwanted religious expression opposing homosexual
behavior, that leaves the listener upset.
▪ The Act would give ‚special victim‛ status to only certain
politically favored groups, inexplicably leaving other categories of
victims
ignored by the federal government.

Homosexuals Try To Hijack Civil Rights Movement
Traditional Values Coalition

http://www.traditionalvalues.org/modules.php?sid=3099

June 14, 2007 – Openly lesbian U.S. Representative Tammy Baldwin (D-
WI) and liberal Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) have introduced House
Resolution 431 on the anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Loving v.
Virginia decision legalizing interracial marriages.

The goal of this resolution is to equate interracial marriage to
homosexual marriage as part of a larger propaganda campaign being
launched by the so-called “Freedom to Marry” group. This coalition
of homosexual activist organizations is running full-color ads in
magazines and newspapers to compare the legalization of interracial
marriage to the effort by homosexuals to have same-sex marriages
legalized.

“Rep. Lewis is a member of the Old Guard of civil rights activists
who have sold out to the homosexual movement,” said TVC Executive
Director Andrea Lafferty. “The New Guard of African American civil
rights leaders and church leaders are much more likely to support a
biblical stand against homosexual behaviors. The division between the
Old Guard and the New Guard is similar to the old mainline churches
versus the new evangelical, charismatic or non-denominational churches.

“The homosexual hijacking of the civil rights movement is an insult
to every person who fought against racism and segregation during the
1960s,” said TVC Executive Director Andrea Lafferty. “Homosexuals
have no shame when it comes to exploiting every noble social movement
in our culture. These radical groups routinely come up with a new
‘holiday’ or special week in order to push their agenda upon the
rest of us—and if you protest against this callous exploitation of
important historical events, you’re labeled a homophobic bigot.”

Speaker Of The House Claims Stem Cell Research ‘Gift of God’

June 14, 2007 – During recent debate on passage of embryonic stem
cell legislation in the House of Representatives, Speaker of the
House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) stated: “Science is a gift of God to all
of us and science has taken us to a place that is biblical in its
power to cure … And that is embryonic stem cell research.”

“This is one of the most biblically unbalanced statements I have
ever heard,” said TVC Executive Director Andrea Lafferty. “This
makes a complete mockery of the beautiful God-given gift of
reproduction and the creation of babies. To assert that the killing
of human embryos for their stem cells is from God, is to shake a fist
in God’s face. The deliberate killing of human embryos for their
stem cells is nothing less than technological cannibalism. Should we
remind Pelosi that science was used for incredibly evil purposes by
Nazi doctors on their grisly experiments with Jewish prisoners?
We’re traveling down that same path with the harvesting of the stem
cells of human embryos.”

CDC syphilis funds were spent to host a safe-sex event with a porn star.
CDC spent funds to have a statue of a woman made out of vegetables.
CDC spent 1.7 million (including funds from a terrorism account) to

Senator Coburn notes: “The report will hopefully be seen for what it
is: an effort to shine some light on prevention efforts and funding
decisions that may be holding the agency back from fulfilling its
central mission of fighting and controlling disease.”

TAKE ACTION: Read and distribute Dr. Coburn’s important report to
your U.S. Representative and two U.S. Senators. Contact Sen. Coburn
and thank him for publicizing this serious mismanagement of taxpayer

Physician Says AAP Report On Homosexual Adoption Seriously Flawed
Traditional Values Coalition

http://www.traditionalvalues.org/modules.php?sid=3095

June 14, 2007 – Dr. Sharon Quick, a member of the American Society
of Anesthesiologists and a retired Clinical Professor from the
Washington School of Medicine, has examined a 2002 American Academy
of Pediatrics report on same-sex marriage adoptions.

[Editor's note: Dr. Quick is also involved with the American Academy
of Medical Ethics, which is an anti-abortion medical group opposed to
abortion in apparently all circumstances, and has testified in
opposition to Plan B/emergency contraception.]

Dr. Quick has found the report to be seriously flawed. She has stated
that the AAP report “contains major quotation and interpretive
errors that, irrespective of the quality of the studies cited,
invalidate the conclusions in the article.”

Dr. Quick found that the AAP report inaccurately referenced 57% of
the scientific literature it cited. In addition, several of the
“studies” cited were funded by the Lesbian Health Fund of the Gay
and Lesbian Medical Association and other pro-homosexual groups.

Other errors included broad generalizations, vague definitions,
conflicting data, poor classifications of homosexual feelings and
relationships and weak use of statistics.

The AAP report is still widely quoted by homosexual groups to push
for same-sex marriage, adoption and foster parenting. The AAP paper
is titled, “American Academy of Pediatrics Technical Report on Same-
Sex Marriage Adoptions.”

Dr. Quick’s analysis of this flawed report is available here: http://
www.lifesite.net/ldn/2007_docs/Analysisofgayparentingreport.pdf

Additional information on this misleading report is available from
LifeSite.net.

false claims that children reared in homosexual households develop
normally and are safe from harm.

Psychiatrist Calls ‘Sex Change’ Operations ‘Madness’
Traditional Values Coalition

http://www.traditionalvalues.org/modules.php?sid=3094

June 14, 2007 – Dr. Theron Bowers, M.D., a psychiatrist with the
Baylor College of Medicine has recently criticized a May Newsweek
article that paints a rosy picture of individuals who undergo so-
called “sex change” or “sexual reassignment” operations

According to Bowers (said tongue-in-cheek), “Newsweek’s coverage
was so saccharine that I needed wet wipes every each page.”

Dr. Bowers observes: “An issue involving sex and castration should
generate a lot of hotly disputed questions. Unhappily, Newsweek
relegated any dispute to the usual evangelical bogeyman, with mild
skepticism replacing controversy. After all, it averred, we can’t
really know the difference between men and women, or male and female.”

He pointed out that the transgender movement is being fueled by “old
Freudian ideas and a silly recent movement called constructivism. The
upshot of these two schools of thought is that nature is unimportant
compared to nurture. Society and technology always trump biology. So
using the word ‘reassignment’ implies that sex is an arbitrary
category imposed by the dominant culture through the family. From
this perspective, sex is merely a societal convention.”

Dr. Bowers ends the essay by stating: “The madness is beyond
transsexualism.”

“Dr. Bowers’ essay needs to be widely read by Members of Congress
who are currently being asked to add ‘gender identity’ to federal
laws,” said TVC Executive Director Andrea Lafferty. “Congress will
be helping normalize and protect a serious mental disorder by adding
gender confused individuals as federally-protected classes. To
normalize mental illness is to be a participant in the madness that
is being fueled by homosexual and transgender activists.”

Radical Homosexual Group Opposes New Surgeon General Nominee
Traditional Values Coalition

http://www.traditionalvalues.org/modules.php?sid=3090

June 7, 2007 – The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force (NGLTF) has
gone on record opposing the nomination of Dr. James W. Holsinger to
become the next Surgeon General of the United States. Dr. Holsinger
is a University of Kentucky professor, former pastor and is a member
of the United Methodist Judicial Council.

Dr. Holsinger is being opposed by the NGLTF because he opposed a
decision to permit a lesbian to be an associate pastor and he sided
with a pastor who would not permit an open homosexual to join the
church.

[...]

Dr. Holsinger’s observations about homosexuality being medically
unsafe has been confirmed repeatedly by other medical professionals.
John Diggs, Jr., M.D., for example, has written “The Health Risks Of
Gay Sex.” In addition, the National Association for Research and
Therapy of Homosexuality has a lengthy list of articles describing
the various health problems associated with homosexual sodomy:
Medical Issues.

Marriage, family, religion vs. tolerance and discrimination
A CFAC Article
6-14-2007

http://www.familyaction.org/Articles/issues/sexuality/mandatory.htm

When Britain legalized sodomy, conservative politician Lord Boothby
asked, "Now that it's legal, how long before it's mandatory?" (quote
from Americans for Truth)

What did he mean by that question? Well the facts that are unfolding
there, in Canada and in many other countries indicate what he likely
meant. Anti-discrimination laws, laws to "force" tolerance, hate
crime laws, and forced hiring policies all are making sodomy
"mandatory" in your community.

Since sexual orientation has been so ineptly defined , intentionally,
companies, governments, organizations and even parents dare not
oppose sodomy. And to use that behavior as a basis for making
decisions about who you may want to hire, have as a friend, as a
teacher of your children, or a leader of your children's hockey team
or gym class will put you at risk of fines, and even jail.
Discrimination is not a logical matter today. It is a political club
used by a few.

So you still think sexual behavior is a personal matter and what
someone does sexually is none of your business?

[...]

The religion and beliefs of the "sexually liberated" are being forced
upon you. But your religion and beliefs are being criminalized if
they are not liberal and "tolerant".

What are you going to do about it?

One Way Street of Tolerance
Canada Family Action Coalition

http://www.familyaction.org/Articles/issues/sexuality/one-way-
tolerance.htm

Note the questions below.

Tolerance, is NOT a one way street for most people but homosexual
activists want it their way - exclusively. Funny thing, that is the
word that the activist courts found in the real definition of
marriage as "unconstitutional : " one man and one woman to the
exclusion of all others". Is that word in the new definition ( any
two persons to the exclusion of all others) still unconstitutional as
it excludes three - four and it restricts it to persons.

Christian denied permission to join 'gay' parade
Charges hypocrisy, saying homosexuals don't 'accept us for who we are'

A Christian street preacher is charging that the homosexual community
in Chicago is guilty of hypocrisy because he was refused permission
to march in a June 24 "gay" pride parade. "I see this as nothing but
hypocrisy," said Ruben Israel, who has been at the Chicago event for
seven previous years, protesting the homosexual lifestyle choice from
the sidewalks. This year he sought permission to participate, and was
refused. He followed up with a statement making the accusation.

Ban schools who promote heterosexual marriage
Canada Family Action Coalition

http://www.familyaction.org/Articles/issues/education/school-is-anti-
gay.htm

So it is discriminatory to promote the benefits and naturalness of
heterosexual marriages. But banning people who espouse that is not
discriminatory.

This is Liberal , secular logic - at its worst. Secularists are notable
for their narrow and bigoted illogical stance. That is who they are!
But if they want to oppose these comments - use the freedom of speech
from the Charter to do so. That is the same freedom that allows me to
promote - defend and argue that marriage of one man and one woman is
superior to every other form of relationship.

Read this story from UK:

Teaching benefits of marriage in school 'is anti-gay'

The Daily Telegraph
May 31, 2007 - By Graeme Paton

Schools should be banned from promoting traditional marriage in sex
education lessons for fear of discriminating against gay and lesbian
children, academics claim. The biggest lecturers' union criticised
teachers who champion heterosexual wedlock for instilling "negative
images" of same-sex relationships. Existing government guidance says
that teachers should emphasise the importance of marriage to promote
a stable family life.
