[Active-seattle-l] (ACTION ITEM) Call to support HB 2661

	The fundamentalist lobbying group "Faith and Freedom Network" has sent 
out an urgent action item to all its members saying to call in 
immediate to oppose civil rights for GBLT citizens. I strongly urge 
email and letters to support. They're telling their people to flood the 
hotline and call ALL senators to oppose.

Update on House Bill 2661

Yesterday the Senate Financial Institutions, Housing & Consumer 
Protection Committee held the hearing on HB 2661. The chair permitted 
only five people to testify on each side of the issue. The five who 
testified for our side were Ken Hutcherson, Pastor of Antioch Bible 
Church, Alec Rowlands, Pastor of Westgate Chapel and director of “Sound 
the Alarm”, Randy Leskovar, Pastor of Calvary Chapel of West Seattle, 
Pastor Dwain Wolfe and Bob Higley, the Senior Lobbyist for Faith and 
Freedom Network. There were 51 people who signed in, opposing the bill, 
and 43 who signed in support of the bill. The Chair permitted each of 
our people to speak for only two minutes. There were many more people 
there who wanted to speak against the bill but who did not get to 
speak.

The vote was seven YES votes to pass the bill, all Democrats plus 
Senator Finkbeiner and three NO votes with Senator Brandland leaving 
before the vote was taken.

THE GOVERNOR WANTS THIS BILL OUT THIS WEEK, SO THE FINAL VOTE WILL 
LIKELY BE FRIDAY BY THE WHOLE SENATE!

ONCE AGAIN. Call all Senators, especially yours! Call the Hot line 
1-800-562-6000. AND PRAY FOR A MIRACLE!
